We’re growing again and adding a number of new people to our team here in Toronto! We’ve just moved in to our sweet new office and are looking to fill it up with great people. Our clients include companies like Microsoft, Lyrics.com, Rhapsody, Lady Gaga, Shazam, Slacker, Kazaa, Virgin, LyricsMode, LyricsFreak, and more, including LyricFind’s own highly successful iPhone, Android and Playbook applications, LyricFind Lite and LyricFind Pro.

We continue to expand our Content Team to grow our lyrics database – the highest quality lyrics database in the world. We’re adding at least two new content team members, specializing in English and Spanish.

We’re also hiring interns starting in January – one for marketing (unpaid, but with lots of benefits) and one developer (paid, unless you want to work for free…).

CONTENT TEAM – ENGLISH & SPANISH (2 POSITIONS)

LyricFind is looking to add to our Content Team, effective immediately. This is a full time position working from our office at Yonge & Eglinton in Toronto. Duties include:

• Transcribing lyrics
• Editing and correcting existing lyrics in the LyricFind database
• Coordinating license clearances with The Harry Fox Agency and other publishers to ensure lyric availability
• Coordinating with clients and music publishers for specific lyric requests
• Researching popular music to prioritize additions
• Researching publisher ownership to aid in licensing targeting

The ideal candidate is fluent in English (or Spanish, as the case may be) with excellent grammar and spelling, and a fast typist. Bonus points for fluency in other languages, particularly French, Italian and German.

 
 
MARKETING INTERN

We are launching a new music service, and we’re looking for 1 or 2 Internet Marketing specialists to help us promote it. You will be pursuing and building relationships with other music sites, and helping us design and implement a marketing plan. You will find the best ways to leverage our significant audience to promote the new service. And, best of all, you will be able to see your hard work and ideas translate into rapid growth, before the end of your term!

Applicants are expected:

• To be able to work alone or in a team
• To have excellent verbal and written communication skills (you will be writing a lot)
• To have excellent computer skills, and a good understanding of how the Internet works
• To have a passion for music, artists, and fans

Bonus points for:

• Experience promoting web sites or mobile applications
• Experience or knowledge of SEO
• Experience creating social media-friendly content

We are ideally looking for a 4-month full-time commitment starting in January, but this is negotiable.

 
 
WEB & MOBILE DEVELOPER (CO-OP)

We’re looking for 1 or 2 developers who will be working on building popular applications and websites powered by our services. Applicants will have the opportunity to be involved in the entire project life-cycle, including design, implementation and testing. By the end of your term, your work will be released to an audience of millions of people!

Applicants are expected:

• To be able to work alone or in a team
• To be proficient with J2EE/Java
• To have the patience and attention to detail necessary to craft an amazing user experience

Bonus points for:

• Experience developing for mobile devices (Android especially)
• Experience designing and building user interfaces
• Experience working with XML-based APIs
• Experience with JavaScript/CSS

This is a full-time 4 month commitment.
